Update on club improvements

After our fundraiser last summer we sent around a survey to the membership to decide how to best spend the money. Here's an update on how work is progressing.

New indoor furniture

We've got rid of the ageing chairs that were in the clubhouse, and now have some new ones.

Scoreboard

We're going to get a new scoreboard - it will be manually operated, but self-lighting, and mounted on the side of the clubhouse.

New TV

We've got a lovely new TV, mounted where the honours board used to be. The board has been moved to the space where our old projector was. We're very happy with the TV - it's big enough to see from across the club - it'll get a lot of use over the coming years!

Disabled toilet and disabled access

Work on the toilet is currently postponed until the work on the patio is done, but the patio will include step-free disabled access from the front car park through the new doors into the clubhouse.

Drinks fridge

Our drinks fridge started warming up our bottles, which was not ideal to say the least. We've sourced a new triple-width drinks fridge, and are now planning to install it behind the bar.

New paint

We've given the interior of the club a lick of paint. The new white walls really make the club feel a lot more spacious!

New patio area

And finally, probably the biggest change to the club in several years, we're well on the way to putting in our new patio area on the pitchside of the club. We've installed some double doors, and we've built foundations and a retaining wall. The plan for the space is to have some outdoor furniture, but we're keeping this under review as we get a clearer picture of the space available.

Everyone at the club is pitching in to help out, and we've scheduled some work days - 29th May, 12th June, 19th June, 26th June. All are welcome - come and lend a hand if you're free!
